Are the web filters at your school too restrictive?

I feel that this question's answer is yes for every student in school now today sadly some many educational sites are blocked for instance in more high school we can not go on youtube even though youtube can be used for education. Sadly and I don’t know why but schools still have not banned Wikipedia because that site have many errors it can be edited by anybody so most of the facts are just false or very incorrect and another point I must make is that why does the people who ban sites care If we play games in lunch I Am restricted and that's my free time websites to check your grades are blocked. Almost every website is blocked on the phone and the java class that I got to allows you to got on only 10 sites that are chosen the rest are restricted. A lot of my friends use vpns to go on restricted websites needed for projects in the article I read it stated “ Filtering websites does the next generation of digital citizens a disservice. Students must develop skills to evaluate information from all types of sources in multiple formats, including the Internet. Relying solely on filters does not teach young citizens how to be savvy searchers or how to evaluate the accuracy of information.”(KATHERINE SCHULTEN ) Stating that banning all these sites does not help the children in the world in school. We can’t learn about being good searchers for information that is needed for projects, homework, and classwork.
